Elena Baltacha

Elena Baltacha

Elena was born in Kiev in 1983, the daughter of a former Dynamo Kiev footballer, Sergei Baltacha, and an Olympic standard pentathlete, Olga, with whom she now lives in North London.

Elena moved to England when her father signed for Ipswich FC in 1989, and became the highest ranked female tennis player in the country before a back operation in the Spring ruled her out of serious competition in 2006. Elena made a successful return in November that year, winning both her singles and doubles matches in the annual confrontation between Scotland and England (the Aberdeen Cup), and, following many subsequent successes, is committed to regaining her number one ranking.

A confident speaker, and a most enthusiastic and willing ambassador, Elena is available for promotional engagements (…providing they do not get in the way of her tennis) and there remain limited opportunities for sponsorship and marketing
