The Times and Patrick Barclay - having been brought together by DWM - agree on a move which takes him to the paper from the Sunday Telegraph as their new Chief Football Commentator.
Lisa Dobriskey, Commonwealth Games gold medallist and fourth in the Olympic 1500 metres final, rejects approaches from several major UK sports agencies to join DWM, and, two weeks later, completes a photo-shoot for the Independent Christmas magazine.
Hugh McIlvanney entertains Mears Group guests at a special sporting lunch at Claridges Hotel and, along with Lennox Lewis, is elected into the International Boxing Hall of Fame - the induction for which will be held in New York in June.
Sarah Stirk agrees a new, DWM-negotiated, two-year contract with Setanta Sport as golf presenter/interviewer.
Jim White interviews Patrick Vieira in front of an invited audience of competition winners on behalf of Ford at the Highbury Barn.

Jim White, Will Buckley and Tom Watt make early appearances on the new series of Fighting Talk, and all feature at the Harrogate Sporting Words Festival where Will's book on the Fighting Talk series is launched.
Ben Jacobs makes his football debut for 5 Live Sport, reporting on Millwall v Leeds...as well as continuing with his regular match reporting for Final Score on BBC 1.
Sarah Stirk, highly-praised golf presenter for Setanta Sports, and previously a regular on sport for the BBC, joins David Welch Management.

Former Arsenal and England stalwart, Martin Keown - now committed to furthering his career in the media -
joins DWM. Already a regular on the flagship BBC football programmes, he immediately begins a series of articles for the Standard, and appears on Setanta's Sunday show as well as TalkSport.
Tom Watt agrees to act as host for the UEFA Champions Club at Arsenal's home European ties this season.
DWM secures a two-year sponsorship deal for the Sports Journalists' Association from Skybet, and arranges interview opportunities for BBC's Inside Sport and the BBC World Service with Michael Schumacher at a major commercial launch in Abu Dhabi.
Mihir Bose agrees to speak at a Westminster Olympic conference in December.
Ben Jacobs is asked to present for 5 Live from the Joe Calzaghe/Roy Jones Jnr fight as part of their
Up All Night coverage from Madison Square Gardens in November.

The Daily Mail's chief sports writer, Paul Hayward, confirms that he is leaving the paper in order to accept
a senior writing role at the Observer/Guardian.
Ben Jacobs presents a four-hour Olympic special for Up All Night on 5 Live going into the last weekend
of the Games.

Jim White is signed by Ford to provide twice-weekly Champions League comment and feature material for their web-based, Feel Football programme.
Laura Williamson interviews Sir Bobby Robson for the latest edition of the Leader magazine and signs a contract with the Daily Mail.
Ben Jacobs debuts on BBC1's Final Score and helps produce the BBC radio campaign for Euro 2008, as well as increasing his regular output for 5 Live.
Sue Mott completes her work on Andy Murray's forthcoming autobiography (publication in June) and appears again on Five Live's Fighting Talk.

Paul Kimmage wins the Sports Interviewer of the Year title for the fourth consecutive year at the prestigious Sports Journalism Awards. Paul Hayward, Stephen Jones,
Sue Mott, David Conn and James Lawton are all short listed in their categories, with Paul Hayward also runner-up as Sport Journalist of the Year.
John Taylor previews Wales' matches for Sky News during their successful Six Nations campaign.

Paul Hayward chief sports writer at the Daily Mail, and much applauded for his work with Michael Owen and
Sir Bobby Robson on their recent autobiographies,
joins the DWM team. He thus renews an association with David Welch with whom he previously worked on the
multi-award winning pages of the Daily Telegraph
broadsheet Sport Supplements.
Meanwhile, James Lawton, SJA sports feature writer of the year, agrees a new contract with the Independent, keeping him at the paper at least until the London Olympics in 2012.
The first of three books (pictured right) in Tom Watt's educational series for publishers, Rising Stars - based on football - is published to an enthusiastic response from schools across the country.
